About Us

Holidays in the Heart of Carinthia

High up in the mountains, on the alpine pastures of the “Göriacher Alm” (1,640 m), you’ll find the mountain cabin “Pucher” amid a handful of other mountain cabins.

Surrounded by lush green pastures, grazing cattle and sparse forests, the cabin boasts a fantastic view of Lake Millstätter See and the mountain scenery. The sunny terrace is the perfect place to have a barbecue, relax or play games. Our cabin sleeps a max. of 8 people. It will be your home away from home for the best time of the year - your holiday.

On the ground floor, there’s a living room and open-plan kitchen with wood-fired stove as well as two large tables. Plus, there’s a large storage room for your hiking equipment, toys, etc. The bathroom features a bathtub, wash basin and a separate toilet.

The bedrooms are on the first floor of the cabin.

  • 1 double room with pull-out couch
  • 1 double room with double bed
  • 1 room with 2 bunk beds (4 persons)

All the beds are made. You don’t need to bring any linen, towels or tea towels. Cookware, tableware, glasses and cups are provided. On the ground floor, the cabin is powered with electricity from the photovoltaic system. Sockets for mobile phone chargers, coffee brewer and fridge (both of them are solar-powered) are provided. Cot, high-chair and playpen provided.

At our farm, you can buy products from our own agricultural production. 

A fenced parking space keeps your car safe from the grazing cattle. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our cabin.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at our mountain cabin from May to October.

Farm Products

Our 30 pigs grow up around our farm enjoying lush meadows and good, clean air. They are allowed to grow up in a healthy way and stay with their mothers long enough. The meat quality is therefore extraordinary.

The taste of our products is the proof for it. Bacon, salami, dried sausages, liverwurst, boiled sausages or aspic, a Carinthian delicacy - everything’s produced directly at our farm.

The farmer is also a passionate hunter. This means that also deer is turned into culinary delicacies on the spot.

Animals

The alpine pastures “Göriacher Alm” are our cows’ summer retreat. Lots of wild animals also live here. If you take the time to go wildlife watching, you might be able to spot red deer, hares, fallow deer, marmots or foxes.

Arrival

We kindly ask our guests to check in at our farm in Göriach, Nr. 9. Here, you will also get the keys for the road barrier that you need to pass to go up by car. Our guests keep this key during the length of their stay.

From our farmhouse, the way up to the mountain cabin is 10 km in length, 6 km of which on an asphalt road and 4 km on a gravel road in good condition. Any car will do to get up.
