Are you looking for tranquility and relaxation? Welcome to our organic farm Biohof Schmidbauer!

Winter is the quiet and contemplative time of the year when nature lies dormant and people relax in peaceful tranquility. Our holiday apartments are ideal to get cosy in winter. The use of reclaimed wood gives the apartment its charming character. The country-style living room with a tiled stove and the winter garden on the ground floor are available to all guests and are welcoming spots to relax and spend time in.

We celebrate the diversity! Not only because many different animals are raised in a close to natural environment on our organic farm but also because we allow bees and insects to have a home. Not everything has to be perfectly tidy. Sometimes what some people find chaotic is an important habitat for others.

It's all about the perspective. :-)

The gentle hilly landscape of the Hausruck is ideal for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing if the weather allows. Or take advantage of the opportunity and take a romantic walk, restorative for body and soul. Those needing to re-energize can stop in at one of the local taverns. The equestrian village of Ampflwang is near enough to reach with an lengthy walk or a short drive.

The Salzkammergut region, with its famous Christmas markets, and Lake Attersee can be reached by car in 20 minutes. A special highlight of the Christmas season is the Christmas market at the historic rebuilt farmhouse Stehrerhof where high-quality, handmade crafts are offered. The market is a 10-minute drive from our farm.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at our farm!

Enjoy our homemade bread every Friday. If our bees were busy enough throughout the year, you may be able to purchase a jar of honey.

Many different animals live on our farm as close to their natural surroundings as possible. Our suckler cow herd is able to stay outdoors up to 365 days a year. During summer, they enjoy fresh grass from the meadow. Our sheep and goats love to spend time outdoors and provide milk for our home-made cheeses. The horses, Johnny and Zita, prefer to be outside during the spring and fall, as it is often too hot for them in summer. The chickens provide fresh eggs every day for breakfast, while the bees produce honey. Our dogs - Jeanny, Mephisto, and Filius - are always ready with a friendly greeting. And last but not least is Muzi, our shy cat.
