About Us
We are a long-established and traditional family-run farm – and we love what we do! We lavish lots of love, time and care on our livestock – it’s not strict discipline that counts most.
There’s plenty of things we can offer our guests. We lend bicycles, rowboats, toys, … but only to guests who appreciate this service and take care of our belongings.
Our guest house is located only a stone’s throw away from the shore of the absolutely stunning Traunsee, in the heart of the Salzkammergut region. You have direct access to the lake and plenty of summer and winter activities on offer. The ski resort Feuerkogel, ideal for families, is a 10 minutes’ drive from the house. The summer toboggan run in Gmunden is also a 10 minutes’ drive. Hiking trails and climbing tours of different levels can be found all around the picturesque lake (Traunstein, Geißwand, Sonnstein, Grünberg, Kaltenbachwildnis,…). We are happy to give you recommendations on day trips, hiking tours, equipment for rent, sailing with the nearby sailing club, fishing in the lake and tell you first-hand stories from our region.
With the Salzkammergut Summer Card, which guests receive free of charge for stays of 3 nights or more, you can get up to 25% off at over 120 popular attractions, sights, and leisure activities throughout the Salzkammergut region. (Valid from May 1st to October 31st)

Information on arriving by public transportation:
- Train: Traunkirchen station (about 1.5 km away)
- Trains run hourly (daily)
- Bus: Viechtau bus stop (about 20 m away) (Note: The bus stop away from the station is called Traunkirchen Abzw Bahnhof and is about 250 m from Traunkirchen station.)
- Buses run hourly (weekdays only)
- Upon arrival by train, guests can reach the accommodation independently by taxi, Traunsee taxi (shared taxi), or bus. The Traunsee taxi stop is located directly at the train station. We are happy to arrange a taxi from the train station. Please contact us before your arrival.
- Regional mobility options: Traunsee taxi
- Nearest dining options: Restaurant Spitzvilla (1.6 km), Restaurant s’Paul (2 km), Pizzeria San Angelo (2.5 km), supermarket (2 km), in Traunkirchen village: Restaurant Bootshaus, Gasthaus/Hotel Post, Greisslerei, or Giovanni ice cream stand (all about 5 km away)
- There is no dining available at the farm, but we have milk and eggs.
- We have 2 bicycles for rent (please inquire in advance).
- For trips around the area without a car, bicycles, train, bus, Traunsee taxi, or water taxi are suitable. The water taxi is ideal for a visit to the old town of Gmunden. The beautiful boat trip on Lake Traunsee and the breathtaking panorama are included. And you're even faster than by car (cost for water taxi! Recommendation: From 4 people onwards, it's worth it and is even competitively priced compared to regular taxi.)
The very special arrival:
- Travel by train to Traunkirchen station, walk to the bus stop 250 m away, and another 50 m - you're at the shore of Lake Traunsee. There, the water taxi can dock, which will take you directly to the jetty of our holiday home. (Even if not officially advertised, the water taxi can dock at private jetties, such as at the accommodation, if needed.)
- Just call the water taxi company (e.g., Schiffahrt Loidl) in advance, arrange a date and meeting point (slipway at Cafe-Winkl), and let them know the destination jetty (directly in the Viechtauer Bay, next to the boat hut of professional fisherman Gaigg; Address: Uferstraße 28).
It is important for us to promote sustainable travel!
We consider the possibility of "green travel" particularly important. Not only can the arrival and departure be climate-friendly, but also the stay. We specifically invest in our accommodation and thus try to contribute positively to sustainable travel: It is no coincidence that we heat with an air heat pump, which gets its electricity from the PV system. The house is also excellently insulated, which contributes to energy efficiency. To further improve the efficient use of PV electricity, it is now planned to install a battery storage system, which will make the house almost energy self-sufficient.

Our guest house (105 m²) is located directly at the lake shore. Its size is ideal for 5 adults or 4 adults and 2 children.
The kitchen, pantry, living and dining area as well as a toilet are on the ground floor.
Two double rooms and a children’s room (bed width 1.60 m) are on the first floor. A book corner invites you to stay. There is also a bathroom with shower and WC.
On the terrace, you can enjoy breakfast having a spectacular view of the lake.
A one-car garage is provided.
