About Us

 

The air, the view, the silence - it’s a dream - look forward to a totally positive place set on a south-east facing hillside of the energising mountain Mirnock. It’s the right holiday destination for large families and groups of friends who enjoy the silence and a tidy place to live in. Have a look in the guest book, a collection of “moments of joy in the mountain cabin”. It feels so good to simply live, spend time in nature, take a bath in the water trough, cook something, have a cup of tea with fresh herbs every morning, look for animal tracks, listen how the birds sing and the nearby stream burbles, observe the wildlife such as foxes, rabbits, chamois, deer and red deer, meet God in his Creation.

We have carefully renovated our 400 year-old mountain cabin Almhaus Köfler. We have put a lot of old machines and tools used by farmers in former days on display. This way, you can feel the traditions and the traces of the past.

The former mountain farm (200 m²) consists of 3 beautiful bedrooms for max. 8 people and 2 smaller children (bunk bed). A place where you’ll feel at home! Two bathrooms and a very large living and kitchen area incl. bed next to the oven, huge seating corner where you can have a chat, play cards or board games add to the cosiness of our mountain cabin that we have renovated with great care, using natural materials.

Location: Secluded location on a hillside facing south and boasting a spectacular view spanning to the Julian Alps.

Animals

You’re welcome to pay us a visit on our organic farm in Aifersdorf. We produce milk with 40 heads of dairy cattle and an equal number of young cattle. Not only cattle, pigs, chicken and alpacas but also a lot of cats and Bentley, our dog, call our farm their home.

Arrival

There’s only one way to get to the mountain cabin, via Fresach to Tragenwinkel and continuing to Amberg. It’s well signposted. Eventually, there’s a gravel road (roughly 700 m) that will take you straight to the house Almhaus Köfler, Amberg 11.
