Our hut can be rented from May to October.
Arrival

You can reach the hut comfortably with your own car on an 8 km long, well developed gravel road.
Simple & good

Wood stove instead of electric stove, earth cellar instead of refrigerator. Rustic and yet comfortable.

At the Oberhöferhütte on the Ladenbergalm in Hintersee, you can completely forget the outside world, simply enjoy nature, re-energize or spend a romantic timeout for two.

Our self-catering hut awaits you at 1200 m above sea level, surrounded by a beautiful mountain world on the edge of the Salzkammergut. You will have no problem reaching our hut in your own car via a nicely maintained, 8 km-long gravel lane.

The Oberhöferhütte is fully equipped and offers you:

a big, cozy and well-equipped kitchen with wood-fired stove for cooking
a large pantry with gas hotplate
living room with games and reading corner
a double room on the ground floor
a 5-bed room on the top floor with balcony and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains
dormitory sleeping for up to 4 people on the top floor
a big, newly renovated bathroom with warm-water shower (gas-fired)
a WC
cellar for cool storage of food
a large outdoor area with seating, loungers, play hut and toys for the kids, water fountain to splash around in, grill equipment etc.
Please bring along your own: towels, flashlights, charcoal if you wish to grill

The Oberhöferhütte does not have electricity, though petroleum lamps and candles provide light and the wood stove radiates pleasant warmth.

Families with children are very welcome here with us. There is plenty of space to play, run and simply “be kids”. And we have lots of toys, both indoors and out. One special highlight is our so-called Strizi Hut, a playhouse right outside the hut itself. Everyone can splash about in the fountain to their heart’s content, while there is also so much waiting to be discovered on the surrounding meadows as well, of course!

That said, we also have everything the grown-ups could wish for, too: garden seating in front of the hut, loungers, hanging chairs, charcoal grill, various fresh kitchen herbs to harvest yourself, sun umbrellas and umbrella stands.

Right in front of the Oberhöferhütte, you will discover the starting point for many beautiful hikes certain to appeal to families, “Sunday hikers” and ambitious mountaineers. We will provide you with a hiking map as well as some of our own insider tips!

If ever you wish to escape the country lifestyle for a while, the city of Salzburg – that mecca of culture and home to world-famous festivals – is just 28 km away. Hintersee as well as the other Salzkammergut lakes, including Fuschlsee and Wolfgangsee, are likewise easy to reach on hot days.
