About Us
You’ll find our farm Sportlerhof (528 m altitude) in the most picturesque location surrounded by nature and the gorgeous natural scenery of the Mountaineering Village Grünau. We’ve followed the principles of building biology as a guideline when building our new annexe with a holiday apartment for 2-5 guests, a family room for 2-4 guests and a double room for 2-3 guests. They are furnished with solid timber furniture, in the parents’ bedroom its made with Austrian stone pine, shower/toilet separate and decorated with a love for detail. The balcony facing south with glass roof and the terrace in every apartment make it easy to take a break and unwind. Fresh bread delivered daily on request, breakfast available upon prior arrangement!
For stays of 3+ nights, the guest card “Salzkammergut Card” is included!
“WALDNESS” - forest bathing is a cure!
We are part of the network of forest farms in the Almtal valley! The idyllic Almtal valley (Salzkammergut region) offers a very special break from everyday life: “Waldness” (a coined term composed of the German word for “forest” and “wellness”). Immerse yourself in the cleansing depths of the forest. Be fully present in the moment, take in the scents and enjoy. Feel the soothing effect of trees and plants in the forest. Understand the deep connection between humans and nature. Your immune system will be grateful. The air in the forest contains terpenes that boost our natural killer T cells, inducing a 50% increase in performance. Simple yoga poses, forest bathing, forest school classes, a bath in mountain pines, a Kneipp cure and time off in the most picturesque spots - the forest is like a fountain of youth!

Our house offers a diverse range of activities for all ages: table tennis, table soccer, toys, board games, books, playground, sandpit, outdoor swimming pool with Roman stairs, trampoline, lawn for sunbathing, private access to the picturesque mountain stream (wade through the cold water, build dams, bask in the sun on the lounger in the stream and take a forest bath), room for skis, ski boots and hiking boots, sauna. Free seats and loungers for our guests.
Culinary delights by the Alm river - “Waldness” forest bathing - locally sourced products - beautiful nature zoo park!
In summer, you can set out on hikes in the mountains, cycling tours, country walks along the river or runs right from the doorstep. Check out the new trail “Berge und Seen” (“mountains and lakes”)! “Genuss am Almfluss” - stroll along the river Alm and enjoy tasty snacks in the most picturesque spots! A selection of natural gems in the Mountaineering Village Grünau: Lake Almsee (buggy-friendly loop trail), Hetzau and Ödsee lakes, mountain range Totes Gebirge and Großer Priel, the highest peak (2,500 m), via ferrata “Tassilo” on the mountain Schermberg, nature zoo park “Cumberland Wildpark” featuring lots of playgrounds, Kasberg with mountain cabins “Hochberghaus” and “Sepp-Huber-Hütte”.
The family-friendly ski resort Kasberg is only 2.5 km from our farm (free shuttle service). 21 km of perfectly groomed pistes, kids’ ski arena, snowshoeing trails, affordable ski passes, spectacular mountain scenery. Ski school and rental service in the valley.

The meadows surrounding our house belong to our farm and are the best place to start epic snowball fights, build snowmen or snow castles, trudge through the snow drawing characters with your footsteps or invent other creative games. Enough space to simply be!
