About Us
Welcome to the Sternhof in SalzburgerLand.
From the farm you can start your activities at any time of the year or stroke our animals or ride a pony with a marvellous view.
Our organic farm is home to many different animals such as our sheep, goats, horses, chickens and our child-loving dog. You are welcome to help us groom and feed the horses. Or you can book a riding lesson with Melanie and learn how to handle a horse in a fun way. Farmer Melanie is a qualified riding instructor according to DelMour (FEBS riding pedagogy) and offers lessons for our guests. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 can learn how to handle horses safely in a playful way in our riding arena. The riding arena is covered with wood chips.
Our Shetland pony is also ridden with a special harness and the pony is led, thus practising a safe seat and preparing for independent riding. And our Fjord horse Melody is always happy to be stroked and groomed. Just ask for an appointment when you arrive.
Families and friends always feel at home in our holiday flat and double room. The very bright flat offers a lot of comfort and is equipped to a high standard. There is a modern hotel with a panoramic terrace and restaurant in the immediate vicinity of our holiday flat and double room. Perfect for our guests who like to indulge in culinary delights.
In summer, you can explore the surrounding area on foot. There are countless hiking trails and mountain bike routes where you can enjoy days out in nature. Our Geisterberg is very popular with families. You can walk there from the farm and discover the adventure park for yourself. In the summer months, the Plankenau bathing lake is always a good tip for cooling off. And in the evening you can enjoy a campfire with a view over the valley.
In winter, our location is of course ideal for all winter sports fans. Put on your skis and off you go. Our farmhouse is located at an altitude of approx. 1030 metres directly on the ski slope in Snow Space Salzburg in Alpendorf. But of course St. Johann has even more to offer. One highlight is certainly a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered winter landscape. Or you can set off on foot - the Gernkogel circular trail guarantees a marvellous winter panorama.
We look forward to your visit!
Yours sincerely, the Wenninger family
