Old Timber or Modern Design? HOW YOUR HOSTS HAVE REINVENTED THE PLACE WITH GREAT CARE AND A PERSONAL TOUCH

As the name says, “premium chalets” are something very special. Each of them is a unique architectural gem, a perfect symbiosis of traditional and contemporary styles that blends perfectly into the stunning natural landscape. A great emphasis has been put on the careful selection of building materials, most of them being locally sourced.

In Austria’s mountainous areas covered with forests, the main building material is wood. Fortunately, it’s available in abundance. Trees that had grown in the farmers’ forests for decades have been cut according to the phases of the moon and carefully manufactured. The unique colour, individual grain and pleasant smell of the wood brings warmth and comfort into the chalet. The trees get a new lease of life there. Sometimes, old timber that has been in use for centuries, is carefully rejuvenated. Combined with modern glass elements, it creates a special ambience.

Rocks from the Alps are also used for floorings, bathroom facilities and terraces. The result either reflects the region’s traditional architecture or modern design. It’s a great joy to see the creativity, thought and care in every detail the host families have planned. Craftsmanship is still alive in the villages. Skilled craftsmen know how locally sourced building materials can be ideally used. And they know how to put it into practice. Our farmers and hosts put a great emphasis on sustainable and nature-based solutions in construction, insulation and energy use. They want their premium chalets to be eco-friendly. That’s why a lot of buildings come with photovoltaics or solar panels. Wherever possible, a local biomass heating system is implemented.

Bathing in Hay or Wading in Water? SAUNA, HOT TUB OR LOUNGER

The hosts let their imagination run wild when it comes to spa facilities. By the way, spa and wellness facilities are a standard for premium chalets. A sauna plus plunge pool with spring water, an Infrared sauna or a rustic hot tub heated by the wood-fired stove underneath. Slip into the hot water and count shooting stars on the night sky with your darling. Can it get any more romantic?

Swimming ponds, jacuzzis, outdoor pools or chilly mountain streams - all of this could be waiting for you in the Austrian mountains. A crystal-clear stream is most probably burbling somewhere near the chalet. Or there’s a fountain just next to the cabin offering “mountain champagne” for free. Cold, delicious and bursting with energy: Fresh spring water is a luxury, especially for city dwellers.  Hay for the hay bath has been harvested on the alpine pastures. You can enjoy this relaxing treatment in some premium chalets.

Professional staff that offers hay baths, massages with wild herbs in the “Alpine stone pine cabin” and yoga classes surrounded by alpine roses and gentian are the icing on the cake for your regenerating break. There are also endless opportunities to calm down outside, in a haven of peace. Maximise relaxation in comfy loungers, hammocks, swings and tree houses.

Peaceful Seclusion or Vibrant Village? MOUNTAIN, VALLEY AND FOREST VIEW

Guests who choose a premium chalet, can look forward to an outstanding location. Take in the breathtaking panoramic mountain view, benefit from a ski lift in walking distance, enjoy some privacy at the edge of a forest, watch trouts swim in crystal-clear mountain streams or lakes or say hi to your good-natured, mooing neighbours, the cows grazing on the pastures.

As far as the interiors are concerned, premium chalets are unbeatable. Solid wood furniture with its pleasant smell (Austrian stone pine is particularly well known for it), elegant carpentry work or modern furnishings in light-flooded rooms. High-quality natural materials such as wool, linen, felt or loden add to the cosy ambience in the comfortable rooms.

You can feel that the hosts have put a love for detail and great care into the renovation of this place. Some cabins - they’re actually much more than that - feature an open fireplace or a tiled stove. Especially after a long day out skiing in winter or a fun-filled snow ball fight, this is a warming treat for body and soul. On a comfortable mattress, you can then slip under the soft blanket and fall into a relaxing sleep surrounded by the clean mountain air and the sound of cow bells only.

Breakfast Box or Barbecue? A LUXURY FOR ALL: FIRST-CLASS SERVICE

A high service quality with a personal touch - that’s what you can expect. It’s great to know that your hosts will pick you up and bring you to the chalet in the mountains if you choose to travel by plane or eco-friendly by train. Of course, they will organise a shuttle service or rent a car for you, so that you can be free and independent at your holiday destination. Your hosts might even bring a breakfast box with culinary delights from their farm to your front door. Others invite you to a wine, fruit spirit or cider tasting. And some deliver fresh meat or fish from their private ponds to your barbecue on the terrace. Every host has his or her own special insider tips. Simply ask! Where can you get the best honey? Where’s the nearest lake for swimming? Who’s the friendliest ski instructor or hiking guide for your individual nature experience? Your hosts will anticipate your every with.

A premium chalet is a luxury for all those who want to spend their holiday in the mountains but don’t want to do without the comforts, wellbeing, personal touch and modern amenities.
