Recreational Cycling in Southern and Eastern Styria
A number of themed cycle routes invites you to explore the lovely scenery in the southern and eastern parts of Styria without missing out on great food and drinks. In the Vulkanland & Spa region, 14 so-called “Genussradwege” include stops where you can sample local delicacies.
The long-distance cycle route “Weinland Steiermark Tour” takes you across the vineyards and along the wine roads in Southern and Eastern Styria.
Food lovers can discover some of the most typical products that Styria is famous for beyond its borders on the “Käferbohnentour” (runner beans) and “Apfeltour” (apples).
Cycling along Rivers
Styria’s most popular cycle route runs along the river Mur (“Murradweg”) from the Hohe Tauern range in the north to the Slovenian/Austrian border in the south. This long-distance route crosses a great diversity of landscapes making it one of Austria’s most beautiful cycle routes along a river.
