Hall - Wattens Holiday Region

The Hall-Wattens region lies in the heart of the Tyrolean mountains and attracts visitors with its relaxing, natural landscape. In summer, the holiday region is ideal for hiking and mountain biking, but above all, it offers opportunities to recharge and unwind. Whether sporty mountaineering or pleasurable hiking in the Karwendel Mountains or the Tux Alps, the Hall-Wattens holiday region offers a multitude of opportunities to experience the nature of the Alps from its best side. For cultural highlights, a visit to the famous Swarovski Crystal Worlds or the Hall Mint with its historic Mint Tower is highly recommended. A shopping spree in the medieval old town of Hall in Tyrol goes perfectly with this. Varied activities in winter are offered by the Glungezer with its skiing area for pleasure skiers and families. Tobogganers, winter hikers and ski tourers are also in good hands on the Glungezer. The Karwendel offers sporting activities in the cold season such as cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking or even nature-watch tours in the snow.

Hall - Wattens Region In the Heart of the Alps

What’s so special here?

  • Some places are special places for strength: spiritual sites, cultural monuments and special natural sites in mountains and valleys. At these places of power you can pause, linger and recharge your batteries. The 14 places in the Hall-Wattens holiday region are carefully selected places of power. Almost all of the special energy spots can be easily reached on foot. Some of the places are hidden and unsuspected, some are obvious, others are real insider tips. But they have one thing in common: they all create a noticeable contrast to everyday life.

  • The Swarovski Crystal Worlds will impress you right away. Right from the start, the garden of the iconic giant surprises with architecture and artistic installations such as the crystal cloud, café & restaurant or the play tower. There is even more to marvel at in the giant. In the Chambers of Wonder you can experience the magic of crystal in an unprecedented dimension.

  • Largest old town in western Austria: The 700-year-old town was the largest and most important town in northern Tyrol in the Middle Ages. Rich salt deposits caused the town to flourish as early as the 13th century. When the sovereign mint was moved from Merano in South Tyrol to Hall in the 15th century, the town's importance increased further. In 1486, the world's first thaler was minted in Hall.

" This is arguably one of the most diverse regions in Tyrol - from the well-preserved historic centre in the medieval town of Hall to Europe’s largest and oldest forest of Austrian stone pine."
