Pitztal Get Ready for a Mountain Adventure
What’s so special here?
- Go up to the glacier, in summer or winter: The view from Austria’s highest café on an altitude of 3,440m will take your breath away. Marvel at the mountain scenery with 50+ majestic 3,000m peaks. This is known as “the roof of Tyrol”.
- Lake Rifflsee in the southern part of the nature park “Kaunergrat” is a true gem. Set in a stunning landscape on 2,232m, this is the highest lake in Tyrol - and arguably one of the most beautiful ones.
- The Austrian stone pine is characteristic of the Pitztal. There’s a loop trail through a stone pine forest, adventurous nature trails with playgrounds, water activities and climbing area. The lookout tower made of Austrian stone pine even includes a giant slide. Great fun for family members of all ages!
- The Pitztal is home to more than 50 waterfalls where water cascades from steep cliffs down into the valley. Soak up the beauty of nature on the four wooden platforms. Nature in all its glory!
The region is wild, romantic and picturesque. Especially great for the fit and outdoorsy! You should definitely go to the café on the summit at an altitude of 3,440m and look straight at the mountain Wildspitze.
