Idyllic and secluded, our alpine hut "Kohlenau" is situated in a quiet, secluded location, surrounded by alpine meadows and forests with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain world. Enjoy nature, breathe the clear air, listen to the rustle of the forests and the splashing of the Bacherl ... - just a holiday on the alp!
Rustic outside and cosy inside. The Kohlenau Hut was lovingly renovated in summer 2016. The kitchen is the heart of the hut with a cosy sitting area, a wood stove for cooking and heating and a fully equipped spacious kitchen. The new bathroom with washbasin, shower and toilet offers our guests some "luxury" on the alpine pasture. A staircase leads up to the first floor with two small bedrooms as well as an anteroom with double floor and integrated reading and cuddling corner.
Our panoramic terrace is equipped with a spacious garden set and on comfortable sun loungers you can enjoy the magnificent view from the Kohlenau alpine hut to the mountain world of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Our alpine hut is only rented in summer, as it is unfortunately not accessible in winter.
We are looking forward to your visit!
All year round: mountain cheese from the Niederkaseralm, various schnapps and liqueurs, jams, chutneys, fresh eggs
from September to May: fresh milk from the third farm
From the end of August to the beginning of October our calves spend a few weeks on the "Kohlenau".
In summer our dairy cows are on the "Niederkaseralm" and our 1 and 2 year old young animals (our offspring) are on the "Salzach" young cattle farm.
At our farm "Drittlhof" you are welcome to visit our chickens and petting animals in summer.
