About Us
Our holiday farm “Poldlbauer” is located in the beautiful Mariazell area, close to the famous basilica of Mariazell. We are the fifth generation working on this organic farm. We are family friendly and have cows, calves, cats, sheep and chickens which would love to get to know you. We are looking forward to showing you our farm.
Forget your stressful everyday life and treat yourself with a relaxing holiday. Enjoy the morning sun at your favorite spot before exploring the Mariazell region. Our region offers numerous possibilities for being adventurous. Spend a wonderful day on the “Mariazeller Bürgeralpe”, enjoy the Erlaufsee bathing lake or go for a hike on one of the scenic hiking routes.
If you stay on our farm, you will get a “Wilde Wunder” card, which enables you to visit 52 holiday destinations in the Mariazell region and the southern “Mostviertel”. Some of the “Wilde Wunder” card attractions are:
- A ride up the „Mariazeller Bürgeralpe” with free entrance to “Holzknechtland” and “Biberwasser”
- Free entrance to the public pool in Mitterbach
- Free rides up the “Gemeindealpe” as well as to the Hennesteck on “Annaberg”
- Numerous other activities around the Ötscher mountain, Hochkar mountain, Gemeindealpe and the Pielachtal valley.

Whether you are an ambitious skier or winter hiker, the Mariazell region offers numerous possibilities for being active. It does not matter if you go cross country skiing, snowshoeing or ski touring, you will enjoy the scenic winter landscape.
The family friendly skiing resorts on the “Bürgeralpe” as well as on the “Gemeindealpe” are close to our farm. Also, the resort “Annaberg” is not far. Not only are these mountains great for skiing, but also for ski touring and sledging. There will be something for every family member. Furthermore, restaurants offer culinary highlights.
Besides hitting the slopes, the ice rink is worth a visit. Or you go cross country skiing, winter hiking, or enjoy a ride on a horse-drawn carriage.

Various self-made products can be tried and enjoyed. Of course, those culinary specialties can be purchased.
In terms of dairy products, we offer fresh cow milk, sheep milk, natural yoghurt, cottage cheese and sheep cheese. If you fancy meet products, we offer beef and lamb meat.
Most of our animals spend all year on our farm or on the meadows. Of course, you are always welcome to check out their stables.
Milk cows are our primary business, but we also have calves, sheep, lambs, chickens as well as cats.
