Animals

We, the animal inhabitants of the Elmaugut in Mühlbach, would like to introduce ourselves!

IIn summer, we live on the green meadows around the farm from May to September and enjoy the sunny days. Our dairy cows can be found outside during the day, while the small animals such as calves, pigs, rabbits and chickens have their home right in the barn.

In winter, we all move into the cosy barn, where we need extra care and feed. Every day at around 4 pm, we welcome helping hands to support us with various smaller tasks.

In addition to us big animals, there are also some cats and the friendly dogs Dana and Bex, who are looking forward to new playmates.

The Elmaugut animal family includes

  • Noriker horses and foals
  • Cows and calves
  • Noriker stallion Zukunft Schaunitz XVIII
  • Ponies
  • cats
  • dogs
  • Goats
  • Sheep
  • Quails
  • Rabbits

We look forward to welcoming you to the Elmaugut soon!

Holiday home from 1679

5 - 18 People

Our special treat for all those looking for cosiness and nostalgia: the self-catering farmhouse anno 1679. Experience the feeling of ‘living like in grandmother's time’ in our lovingly partially renovated, over 300-year-old farmhouse in the historic courtyard. Here you will find a place to relax, lean against the warm tiled stove in the old farmhouse parlour and unwind.

The farmhouse offers plenty of space for socialising with up to 19 people. It has six bedrooms, a large farmhouse parlour with tiled stove and stove bench as well as a well-equipped kitchen with sitting area and wood-burning stove.

First floor:
Five double rooms and one four-bed room offer plenty of space. In addition, there are enough pull-out couches and extra beds available so that space can be flexibly created for all guests.

You can hire a set of bed linen and towels from us for €15.00. Please inform us before your arrival so that we can prepare everything for you in good time.

Ground floor:
The ground floor is the centrepiece of the house. The rustic farmhouse parlour with tiled stove and stove bench invites you to eat, drink and laugh together. Here you can experience pure cosiness. The well-equipped kitchen is perfectly geared to the needs of large groups and offers a wood-burning stove, an oven, an electric cooker, a dishwasher, a fridge with freezer compartment, a bread slicer, a kettle, a coffee machine and a complete kitchen inventory.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

The service charge, which is added to the total price on site, depends on the season: it is €26 per day from November to April and €22 per day from May to October. This flat rate covers the cost of firewood for the fireplace and stove, electricity and water consumption and waste disposal.

Perfect for socialising in a historic atmosphere.

Arrival

By bus & train:
Get your holiday off to a relaxed start by train! The nearest railway station is Bischofshofen, from where you can take the hiking bus directly to the Elmaugut. You can book train connections at www.oebb.at or by phone on 051717.

By car:

From Munich or Salzburg:
Take the A10 Tauern motorway towards Villach, take the Bischofshofen exit and follow the B164 to Mühlbach am Hochkönig. At the end of the village, following the main road, you will find the valley station of the Karbachalm cable car on the left and Gasthof Lederer on the right. From there it is about two kilometres to our house, which is on the right-hand side of the road.

Toll-free variant:
Via the A8 Munich-Salzburg motorway to Traunstein/Siegsdorf, then via the B306, B305 and B311 to Saalfelden. Alternatively via Rosenheim, Kufstein Süd, St. Johann/Tyrol and Saalfelden. Our house is located approx. three kilometres after the ‘Dientner Sattel’ pass on the left-hand side. This route does not require a motorway toll sticker.

In winter you should bring snow chains and good winter equipment.

By aeroplane:
The nearest airports are Salzburg and Munich. There are daily non-stop flights from Hamburg to Salzburg, from where the Hochkönig region can be reached in around an hour by car or train.

If you are travelling by car, please use the search term ‘5505 Mühlbach am Hochkönig, Elmaugut’ in your route planner. Please note that not all navigation systems display our road correctly and follow our instructions to reach your destination safely.
