About Us
Our farm Erlebnisbauernhof Steinkellnergut is located in the rolling countryside of the Mühlviertel region. The farmhouse faces south. It’s located in complete solitude with a view of the prominent massif Ötscher. After the major fire in 2019, the former four-sided farm yard was rebuilt and now shines in full glory. Only the old cellar vault and the bread oven/smithy from the 15th century still allows for a fascinating glimpse into the past.
As our farm is set directly at the 700 km network of horse-riding trails, you can explore the Mühlviertel region with your own horse or with one of our well-behaved rental horses. This truly is a paradise for horse riders! Our farm is ideal for holidays with your own horse. The Western Saloon with its large, sunny terrace perfectly complements the ensemble.
Our farm Erlebnisbauernhof Steinkellnergut translates to “farm of experiences”. And it lives up to its name! You can undertake a great number of activities, either alone or guided:
- Guided e-bike tours with rental bikes from our farm
- Guided motorcycle tours through the calm and rolling countryside
- Guided trail rides on horseback to one of the countless castle ruins
- Individual horse riding lessons on our private sand paddock
- Guided hikes through legendary gorges and ravines
- Hikes through fairy-tale forests dotted with granite boulders that are characteristic of the Mühlviertel region
- Bush craft, outdoor and survival courses in our private forest for children and beginners
- Sleep underneath the stars in one of our hammocks in the orchard
- Archery course for children and beginners
- Bread baking in our 500-year-old stone oven
- Horse riding weeks for children - a very special highlight for the school holidays!
How to get here by public transport:
- Train station in Perg (about 53 min. by public bus or 25 min. by car)

In addition to the culinary delights typical of the Mühlviertel region such as naturally cloudy apple and pear juice, apple and pear cider, syrups made from berries & flowers & herbs, jams and spreads, pickled vegetables, cakes and bread, we also serve fine sausage and bacon with a touch of Tyrol.
All of this can be enjoyed directly in our tavern.
On our farm, the welfare of our animals is our top priority. Therefore, we have only a few animals on the farm. Those who call our farm their home enjoy extra space and get even more attention.
Rosi, our Yorkshire Terrier, loves to lie on the sun terrace of the tavern and wait for cuddles.
Pezi and Luna, our two cats, are siblings but yet could not be more different. Pezi comes straight up to anyone and expects cuddles, while Luna prefers to spend her time mouse hunting.
We also have 8 horses in all colours and sizes, waiting for a ride with you. Snoopy, our little Shetland pony, is the children's favourite.
Furthermore, we have:
- Finnegan, chestnut, Irish wild horse
- Vigo, bay, Hungarian pony
- Ares, black, of Spanish origin
- Elvis, baroque pinto
- Imperia, grey, PRE & broodmare
- This, grey, Trakehner
- Octavia, bay, Lusitano
4 pigs spend their summer holiday on our farm, basking in the sun.
