Welcome to the Mountain Cabin “Ferienhütte Sternenblick”

At night, it’s pitch-dark. No street lights, no car headlights. And yet: Your eye gets accustomed to the darkness. Suddenly, you can see a myriad of stars in the night sky. Cuddled up in a lounger in front of the cabin, you’re cosy and warm. An evening a bit closer to heaven is about to start at 1,300 m above sea level in the Mölltal valley. The stresses and strains of everyday life are forgotten in an instant.

Max. occupancy: 4 people in 1 double room with double bed and 1 children’s room with single beds (beds can be attached to each other), furniture built with Austrian stone pine

The wood used for the furnishings in the entire cabin was sourced from our private forests. We have cut the trees ourselves. In cooperation with local craftsmen, we’ve turned the wood into high-quality furniture. You can see, feel and smell it as you enter the house: It’s a place of well-being and comfort.

From Austria’s Highest Mountain to a Pristine High Valley

The mountain cabin is located in Ranach, a small village nestled in the mountains of the Mölltal valley. It’s set on a picturesque mountain pasture. A one-day-hike leads you from the cabin straight to the top of the mountain Gartl. When in season, you can find cranberries, blackberries and mushrooms in the nearby forest or on the alpine pastures. Delicious ingredients for dinner!

Our farm is set only 200 m from the mountain cabin. We raise Highland cattle, Fleckvieh and Charolais. You’re welcome to pay the animals a visit. They spend summer on the alpine pastures high up in the mountains.

Day Trips in the Surroundings

Heiligenblut am Grossglockner is only 15 min. from our place. The small, picturesque village is nestled at the foot of Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner.

Asten, an alpine valley known far beyond its borders, is located on the opposite side of the valley floor. It’s a high-altitude valley set in the Hohe Tauern range. It’s widely known for the traditional land use practice, the diversity of flowers and a unique, picture-perfect scenery.

The village Großkirchheim is only a few minutes’ drive. Here, you can visit a popular fun park feat: natural swimming pool, diving platform and water slides, climbing tower, beach volleyball and tennis court and much more.
