A Bit Closer to Heaven

You can absolutely say that the location of the farm “Wallnerhof” is spectacular. Coming from the village of Obergottesfeld in the Drautal valley, Carinthia, you have to go up a steep hill via an asphalt / gravel road until you’re at an altitude of 1,215 m. Here, in an absolutely secluded location, you’ll find our organic farm “Wallner” surrounded by mountain meadows and forests. Up until a few years ago, this farm could only be reached via a small access road or on foot.

Today, you can find all the comforts here. Sheep are raised on this organic farm. A donkey keeps the woollen herd safe. The fluffy bunnies live in a place of complete well-being and rival the kittens when it comes to the guests’ attention. They are very friendly and can’t wait to get a bit of tender loving care. The cows and the ewes spend summer on the alpine pastures further up in the mountains. You can pay them a visit there.

The holiday apartment in the farmhouse is very spacious (140 m²), fully furnished and sleeps up to 4 people (one bedroom with double bed, two bedrooms with single beds). From the two balconies, you can take in unspoiled mountain views from the Goldeck to Obergottelfeld and from the Drautal valley to Lurnfeld.

Soooo many beautiful spots - how to choose where to sit down first????

We highly recommend our energising spot. A basin with cold water for Kneipp cures, loungers in the shade underneath the birch trees, a masonry barbecue and a play tower are waiting for your exclusive visit.

The pergola next to grandma’s large farmer’s garden is another inviting spot to spend the evening. An evening here may be longer than expected: old and new stories about the farm and life on a mountain farm tend to captivate guests from far and near.

On rainy days, you can use the living room next to the energising spot and play table tennis or browse the books in the library.

Hi kids!

Animals to play with, to pet and cuddle as well as lots of exciting memories...Our bunnies Bunny, Peter, Flips and Maxi can’t wait to get some delicious feed and cuddles from you. They adore daffodils and carrots.

Should you hear an animal welcoming you with a loud “I A” - that’s our donkey Pauli. He’s very much looking forward to meeting you. You can spoil him by feeding him carrots. Go and have a look where our little rascals Minka and Blacky (our cats) are. You can romp, play and cuddle with them. And, of course, you can feed them. A lot of ewes with their lambs are grazing on the pastures around our farm. You could watch them play and romp for hours...

Our cows and ewes spend summer on the alpine pastures further up in the mountains. You can pay them a visit there anytime. Please make sure you always follow the basic rules concerning grazing animals. Find out more here: https://www.sichere-almen.at/ (information provided in German and English)

Coming from the highway exit “Lendorf”, continue in the direction of Lienz, pass the tunnel “Festungsbergtunnel” near Sachsenburg and continue to the restaurant “Auszeit” in Obergottesfeld. Go past the restaurant and cross the village. Then, turn left (there are rubbish bins on the right-hand side) and go up the hill. Follow the road signs indicating “Lanzewitzen-Wallneralm-Urlaub am Bauernhof”. After approx. 5 km, you’ve reached your final destination. Keep an eye out for the road sign with the Carinthian flag - you’re right here! We wish you a pleasant journey.
