About Us

A holiday on the Bio-Gmeiner farm means you and your children experiencing the farming life and coming closer to nature. Our farm is quiet yet centrally located. Our new holiday apartment is furnished in cosy natural wood with particularly large and comfortable living room spaces. They offer a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains.

For children our farm is a paradise. In addition to cows, calves, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, pygmy goats, a Boer goat, sheep  and chickens, we also have a Haflinger mare and a miniature donkey. In our outdoor area we also have toys and playing equipment and when the weather is bad the children can make use of our large playroom.

Of course farmer Josef is always glad of a helping hand in the barn.

In winter we are off the beaten track away from the main hustle and bustle. The next skiing region of Mellau-Damüls, is about 10 minutes by car. A ski bus goes every hour to Mellau  and Bezau (the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away). In addition, we also have snowshoes, bobsleighs and sledges available. Cross-country skiers and winter hikers can immediately begin in front of the door. Isn't that great?

So that the winter sport is fun, on request you will also be given a crash course by your hosts.

Farm Products

On our organic Gmeinerhof farm we produce our own

You are welcome to come along and collect the eggs from the nests yourself. What fun! It's also interesting to watch the milking in the barn and taste the fresh, warm cow's milk on the spot. Does fresh cow's milk taste the same as that from the shop or from a tetrapack? Try it out ...

Animals

The organic Gmeinerhof farm in Bizau is home to      

  •     organic dairy cows and calves
  •     Franzl the pony
  •     the rabbits Hanni and Nanni
  •     Max the cat
  •     Boer goats
  •     our organic chickens
  •     and the donkey Benni

We are happy about everyone who helps us with watering the calves, cleaning the pony and donkey, milking the cows, feeding and collecting eggs from the organic chickens, feeding our sweet cat and the cuddly rabbits.

Hirschberg apartment

2 - 8 People

The Hirschberg apartment has a wonderful view of the Hirschberg and features a 4-bed room and a children's room. The Hirschberg apartment can be extended with the addition of the double room in the attic with view of the Hirschberg or the the double room with view of the Kanisfluh massif.

The double room in the attic is particularly appealing. It's a cosy place to cuddle up, but is also ideal for older have some peace and quiet.

The Sonnenschein comfortable double room is very spacious and includes a seating area, fridge, TV, pull-out sofa bed, separate children's room for two and an additional bathroom with a wonderful healthy steam shower for two persons. The wonderful view of the Kanisfluh massif can be enjoyed in the neighbouring veranda.
