Take a break in nature surrounded by green meadows, large forests and grazing cows - that’s what you’ll find at our holiday home “Ferienhaus Goanbau”. A traditional farmhouse, newly renovated, for private use! Where can you find this? Here, in the Mühlviertel region, a truly picturesque and peaceful setting.

Perfect for families & groups

In our holiday home “Ferienhaus Goanbau”, you’ll stay in a historic farmhouse for private use. Immerse yourself in nature, have a barbecue, play and have a good time together - up to 10 people will find a lovely hideaway from everyday life. The house consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It’s ideal for 2 families or a larger group. Children enjoy an endless freedom on the meadows and on the playground next to the house. The ground floor is fully accessible (wheelchair-friendly toilet and shower). On cold days or in the evening, you can indulge in the private sauna. At night, don’t miss out on the breathtaking starry sky - far from light pollution.

Cultural heritage renovated with natural materials

The historic farmhouse blends perfectly into the idyllic and peaceful scenery and features a panoramic view of the undulating hills and forests. Built with large granite blocks, the architectural style is characteristic of the Mühlviertel region. We have renovated the farmhouse from 1857 ourselves with great care. Unique details have been preserved and preserve the history of the farmhouse. Natural materials reflect our connection with nature. Clay plaster makes for a pleasant indoor climate.

Our dairy farm is 300 m away.

At times, our dairy cows graze on the pastures surrounding the house. On our working farm (300 m), you can go to the barn and watch us milk and feed the cows, pitch in yourself or simply pet the friendly cats. You’re welcome to get fresh milk or eggs for breakfast from us. Our own farm is only a 5-minutes’ walk from the holiday home “Ferienhaus Goanbau”. Our youngest family members Vanessa (8) and Stefan (10) are looking forward to meet children to play with!

Fascinating nature experiences in an idyllic, peaceful scenery

A vast network of hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails invites you to explore nature. Visit the moorlands of the nature reserve “Tanner Moor” (15 km), Austria’s largest moorland watered exclusively by rain, and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of moorlands during a guided tour. Take a walk along the dark-coloured river Schwarze Aist and take in the silence of the vast forests in the very north Upper Austria. Have you ever gone swimming in a moorland lake? A day at the lakes Rosenhofer Teiche and Stierhübelteich (10 km), nestled in the forest, is a very special experience. In winter, have fun at the family-friendly ski lifts at Viehberg in Sandl (13 km) and in Liebenau (9 km) as well as the vast network of cross-country ski trails of “Sportarena Liebenau” (9 km). Set at an altitude of 900 m, you can look forward to a colourful spring, a summer without unbearable heat, a beautiful autumn above the foggy lowlands and plenty of snow in winter.
