When winter arrives in the region of the Kaiserwinkl and lays its white splendour over the land, the landscape shows its dreamy and romantic side. But the Kaiserwinkl with its villages Kössen, Walchsee, Schwendt and Rettenschöss has much more to offer: Untouched nature, living tradition and the towering peaks of the Tame and Wild Emperor!
Skiing in Walchsee is not without reason one of the most popular winter sports! Snowboarders, freeriders, beginners, carvers and small piste fleas are happy to whizz down the 22 kilometres of slopes of the family-friendly "Hochkössen Ski Area". But also the nearby skiing areas "Zahmer Kaiser" or the "Waidringer Steinplatte" offer fantastic, perfectly groomed slopes and many possibilities to stop for refreshments in traditional ski huts and restaurants.
Whether you like to skate or explore the surroundings in a classic style - everything is possible here! A 250 km extensive cross-country ski trail network with sunny sections, easy ascents and some circular trails makes every sportsman's heart beat faster when cross-country skiing in Walchsee! In addition, the use of the cross-country trails in Kaiserwinkl is free of charge.
But also off-piste and cross-country skiing tracks there are many possibilities to arrange your holiday. Leisurely walks on more than 80 km of cleared winter hiking trails, snowshoe hikes, ski tours, funny toboggan runs or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride make a winter holiday in Walchsee a real experience.

We have fresh milk and eggs. We also offer schnapps and honey from surrounding organic farmers from the region.
Our cows spend the summer from June to September on the alpine pastures, where they have plenty of space to run around and enjoy the fresh grasses and alpine herbs - and we taste that in our good hay milk! Our guests are welcome to taste the unique taste and high quality of our organic hay-milk, because we are proud to run an organic hay-milk farm in Kaiserwinkl!
Many animals live on our farm and this inspires especially families with children. And also the possibility to look over the farmer's shoulder while working in the stable or in the fields is a very special experience.
Of course the children have a lot of fun in our petting zoo, where the tomcat "Poldi" leads the regiment. Our dwarf rabbits Princess Brauni, Momo and Wuschel as well as our 2 dwarf goats "Herzerl" and "Heidi" are curiously waiting to see who will spoil them with strokes.
Our cattle, a particularly milk-oriented breed of brown cattle, is on our alpine pasture from June to September for "summer freshness". A common hike there inspires children as well as adults.
In addition, our 10 hens with their proud purebred Appenzell cock Giovanni are also looking forward to a visit. It is certainly an experience to collect the freshly laid eggs from our happy hens together with the farmer's wife.
