Hofer Hütte

The mountain cabin “Hoferhütte” used to be a mountain restaurant. It’s set at an altitude of 1,748 m at the foot of the mountain Tschiernock. Here, you can take a break from everyday life - without electricity. Still, there are the necessary comforts: solar lighting, cold running water, toilet, shower with boiler for warm water. Apart from the comfortable kitchen and living area with wood-fired stove, there’s a bathroom, a pantry, five double rooms, a mattress room, a rustic outhouse and a large living room. It’s ideal for 4 to 15 people.

As you sit on the bench next to the cabin and the spring water fountain, you can feel the peace and silence of the Nockberge mountains. You can easily explore them starting from the cabin. Highlight for hikers: Four cabins serving food and drinks in the surroundings are the perfect destinations for a hike with the whole family. Perhaps you’ll find mushrooms, wild blackberries or cranberries along the way.

The mountain cabin “Hoferhütte” can be easily reached by car (any car type) via a gravel road in good condition. The traditional farm run by the Hofer-Glawischnig family is only 10 km from the cabin. There, you can use the heated pool, join an evening barbecue in case you don’t want to cook every now and then or buy home-made culinary delights.
