Our farm Binterhof is surrounded by meadows, forests and mountains. For almost 400 years, it has been run by our family.
On our farm, certified with 4 flowers, there’s plenty of space to play and move around freely. Start country walks, hikes and bike tours from the doorstep. Our region “Outdoor Park Oberdrautal Valley” boasts diverse outdoor activities: canyoning, zip lining through the forest, climbing, bike trails (long-distance trail R1 and lots of MTB trails; bikes for rent in the neighbouring village), archery course, flying model aircrafts, hiking (all levels), playing golf (golf course 1 km from our farm), cruising the Drava River on a boat or canoe.
For us, our farm is not only our home but also the place where we can follow our passion. We live and work in and with nature. Our private mountain spring allows us to source our own drinking water. We produce meat and milk on our farm and transform both into delicious food products. Apart from cheese, fresh cheese variations, bacon and sausages, we are especially proud of our curd cheese-based dessert called “Topfentraum”.
We are passionate about running our farm in a holistic way and demonstrate this by constantly trying to refine our products. We put great emphasis on not neglecting the traditional way of farming, all while integrating modern elements. That’s why taking part in food competitions with our home-made products is important for us. We want to optimise our delicacies.

Our farm Binterhof is surrounded by meadows, forests and mountains. For almost 400 years, it has been run by our family.
On our farm, certified with 4 flowers, there’s plenty of space to play and move around freely. Start country walks and hikes from the doorstep. Our region boasts diverse outdoor activities: ice skating on the rink (1 km from the farm) or on Lake Weissensee (Europe’s largest natural ice skating surface), snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or alpine skiing.

Cheese, bacon and curd cheese dreams
Our 14 dairy cows provide us with fresh milk that we transform into delicious dairy products in our private dairy on the farm. The majority of the milk is the foundation of our wonderful “Binterhof Topfentraum” - a delightful curd cheese dessert. We also make different types of fresh cheese, mozzarella, ricotta and hard cheese.
Bacon, sausages, salami and traditional spreads such as “Verhackert” (a bacon-based spread) and “Leberbratl” (a liver-based spread) are produced from our pigs’ meat.
You can buy our delicacies on our farm (24/7 self-service farm shop) or at the farmer’s market in Spittal (on Thursdays).
Apart from our farm shop and the farmer’s market, you can also buy our curd cheese dessert “Topfentraum” in selected supermarkets and grocery stores in the region.
Pablo, our cutest family member, is our “farm dog”. The Tibetan spaniel crossbreed does not only enrich our lives but also quickly makes friends with our guests and runs them ragged. Several cats, some of them young kittens, also call our farm their home and can’t wait being tamed by our guest kids.
Our two ducks, Edeltraud and Ernst, have their pond next to the barn. This way,
they can spend their summer days in the sun.
Our barn is home to our cows, pigs and calves.
