Close your eyes and imagine waking up to the sound of chirping birds, walking barefoot through the morning dew across the private lawn and towards the turquoise waters of the lake, greeting the morning sun and immersing yourself in nature on the wooden bench underneath the old white willow. Listen to the ducks quacking. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a trout jumping out of the water. Welcome to a place where time seems to have come to a standstill. And yet, rural traditions and modern comforts form a harmonic blend. That’s what you can look forward to in our newly designed rooms, holiday apartments and holiday homes that feature a fantastic lake view.
If not here, where else can you feel the essence of nature and animals as intensively? Funny, exciting, interesting... expect all of these moments on our farm, in our barn or at our mountain cabin.
We prepare an indulgent breakfast buffet for our guests. In the evening, we serve snacks such as a cold snack platter, omelettes, “Kaiserschmarren” (a typical Austrian pancake) and more. Furthermore, Lake Weissensee is well known as a Slow Food Travel Destination where the traditional, local cuisine meets the Mediterranean touch of the Alps-Adriatic region and extraordinary locations.
The guest card “Weissensee-Premium CARD” includes the following services for our guests: free shuttle service from the train station “Greifenburg” at arrival and departure, bus line at Lake Weissensee, cable car (incl. MTB), boat cruise on Lake Weissensee.
After a day packed with outdoor activities, you can relax in our warm, cosy and sunlit spa area, on the heated infrared loungers or in our sauna. Treat yourself to something special and book a spa treatment. Your host Silvia is a certified massage therapist. She’s happy to provide advice.
Information on getting here by public transportation:
- Arrival by bus is possible (nearest bus stop: right in front of the door)
- Buses run hourly during the pre and post-seasons and every half hour during the peak season (7 days a week).
- Arrival by train is possible (nearest train station: Greifenburg/Weissensee Station, approximately 12.5 km away)
- From the train station to us: Pickup is free with the PremiumCard Weissensee, reservation required at least one day in advance (by 6:00 PM)
- Trains run multiple times daily with excellent connections to Vienna, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
- In our community, we offer the following mobility options: Free use of Weissensee Mountain Railway, Weissensee Shipping, and Nature Park Shuttle with the PremiumCard; On-demand services: hiking bus or hiking taxi, bike rental.
- We provide the following catering options on-site: Breakfast, products from our own farm or farm shop, bread roll service, small evening menu
- Bicycles and rowing boats are available free of charge at our property.
- All guests arriving by train can also use our cargo bike for shopping free of charge, and as a reward, the whole family gets a free ice cream.
The entire Weissensee holiday region has a very well-thought-out mobility offering, making a car-free vacation easy. Upon arrival, our guests receive the WeissenseePremium Card with free use of the train station shuttle, nature park bus, and in summer: boat trips and mountain railway, and in winter: ice and cross-country skiing, as well as free skiing from January 5th to February 1st, 2025.

The frozen lake is about to welcome countless ice skaters who gather on the glassy surface or glide gracefully across the ice. Alpine skiers conquer the family-friendly ski resort “Naggler Alm” with the exciting kids’ area “Bobo-Kinderschiwelt”. Cross-country skiers enjoy the snow-covered winter wonderland and the enchanting rolling landscape of the nature park “Weissensee”.

The delicious organic breakfast prepared in grandma’s kitchen and the enticing smell that fills the air in the house make your mouth water. We serve traditional dishes and natural delights. We don’t offer half-board.
However, in the evening, our guests can order snacks such as a cold snack platter, different types of omelettes, “Kaiserschmarren” (a typical Austrian pancake) and more. Plus, there are several restaurants serving local culinary treats in the immediate surroundings.
The fire is crackling in the tiled stove and the sauna has been heated up - this holiday will live on in your memory.

From 05 of January until 01 of february, the cable car in Weissensee is included in the stay.

Fresh milk, butter, Glundner, Graukäse, jam, curd cheese, bacon, “Verhackert” (a bacon-based spread)
In summer, the cows graze on the alpine pastures. We regularly hike up there to pay them a visit and watch them being milked. Perhaps the farmer will come on his tractor and give us a lift?
Only the pigs spend the summer months in the barn. All the other animals are outside. Find the rabbits and chicken behind the house. The cats, of course, are all over the place - in the shed, in the barn or sunbathing on a pile of logs.
