About Us
Your HOME in the mountains
At almost 1,300 m above sea level, far away from everyday life, in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park region.
The Ortnerhof is a small, fine holiday hotel with own riding stable embedded in the mountain landscape between the impressive mountains Großvenediger and the Großglockner.
Our farmhouse has a long tradition, which has been shaped and grown through generations. In the traditional Stubenhaus you will find private and quiet retreats in the typical East Tyrolean farm style. You can enjoy modern and exclusive open space in the in the newly built Stadl apartments, right next door.
Culinary pampering: The day begins with a hearty breakfast that provides energy for every holiday adventure. In the evening we serve a delicious menu in three courses in our cozy restaurant rooms.
Local, fresh & enjoyable. Because it tastes best that way. In our kitchen we consciously use products from high-class producers from Tyrol and Austria. Preferably even from our valley and East Tyrol.
Feel the freedom and experience feelings of happiness together while mountain biking and horse riding along the turquoise blue glacier river towards the head of the valley and the highest peaks in Austria.
Breathe deeply and recharge your batteries: open the front door and step out into the magnificent natural and mountain landscape. Then relax and enjoy in the sauna or infrared cabin. A pampering massage will do you good.

About Us
Your HOME in the mountains...
The Ortnerhof is one of the few holiday accommodations here in East Tyrol's Virgental with rooms & apartments including half board. We offer romantic enjoyment time by the fireplace. Our guests appreciate the all-round catering with many valuable foods from local farmers and regional producers. The extensive breakfast buffet guarantees a vital start to the day on holiday.
The Ortnerhof in a prime location. In the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park at almost 1,300 m above sea level. Down in the valley, therefore easily accessible even in winter. Nestled in the middle of impressive mountain peaks - in the sunny district of Bobojach in Prägraten am Großvenediger.
Feel at home in the STUBENHAUS. The traditional rooms and apartments in the farmhouse for 2-5 people are popular because of their special flair. Each one is unique, typical of the region and has been equipped with modern comforts over the years. Several rooms also ensure comfort and sociable get-togethers.
Enjoy freedom in the new STADL apartments Alpine style with modern living comfort. Ideal for demanding couples, families, groups, friends from 2-6 people. The newly built holiday home next door can be booked with culinary service or without food. There is your own sauna right in the house!
Holiday office: desks and highspeed WiFi are available in all apartments! The optimal work-life balance makes necessary office work easier during the vacation period.
Welcome to the national park partner company. A guided ranger hike is included for our guests! The diverse winter offerings in the immediate vicinity. Away from the hustle and bustle in the pristine landscape, we offer our guests snowshoe hiking, cross-country skiing, tobogganing or unforgettable ski touring routes in a high alpine winter idyll.
Health power places & Wellness. After so much sun, peace and healthy mountain air, the soothing warmth of the sauna, infrared cabin and the new infrared loungers beckons. Also: massage offers.
The inexpensive ski holiday in the Prägraten family ski area is nearby. And the Großglockner ski resort is only 13 km away. The ski bus is free, as are public lines throughout East Tyrol! Stop next door.
Horseback riding in the snow is a special experience. The ideal change from skiing. Along the valley you go past thickly snow-covered forests, mountain meadows and the ice-covered Isel river.

The comprehensive breakfast buffet leaves you with no wish unfulfilled.

The cats are waiting at the front door and let you enjoy petting their "tiger fur". They purr with satisfaction and lick their paws. In the summer, our riding horses can be discovered in the nearby paddock. Heidi the donkey plots happily behind the horses. They are saddled up in front of the stall for the next group outing. By the way, we ride in the winter too!
