About Us
Welcome to the Rettenbachgut in Werfen!
Cosy organic farm in a wonderful secluded location, in the middle of the farm's own meadows with a beautiful view of the Tennengebirge mountains with the largest ice cave in the world and the Hohenwerfen Castle. You can make beautiful hikes and alpine ski tours directly from our farm. Due to our central location (40 km south of the city of Salzburg), the numerous excursion destinations and sights as well as the ski areas can be reached in a short time.
On the Rettenbachgut there are many friendly animals, such as sheep, horses, ponies, rabbits, cattle, chickens, cats as well as the favourite of all house guests, our house dog Rico. Experience a harmonious togetherness of man, animal and nature!
The Rettenbachgut is the ideal starting point for wonderful hikes. In winter you have the possibility to start directly in front of the farm to the longest touring ski piste of the Eastern Alps.
Our guests particularly appreciate the breakfast with products from our own agriculture, among other things we offer homemade farm bread, jams, homemade butter and curd spreads, soft breakfast eggs from free-range, happy chickens as well as cheese, sausage and ham of excellent quality.
For our little guests there are tractors, a children's area with a sandpit, a swing, a trampoline, a play hut and many toys, as well as a table tennis table. Own guest kitchen on the ground floor.

Recreation, relaxation and peace for your most beautiful and most valuable days of the year are guaranteed on our very well-kept, historical farm. Our farm is situated in a sunny and beautiful location in the middle of a romantic winter landscape. Wonderful view of Hohenwerfen Castle and the mountains.
Possibility to enter the longest ski run of the Eastern Alps directly in front of the farm. Due to the central location, you can reach the numerous ski areas in the surrounding area after a short drive, such as the Werfenweng or Ski-Amadé mountain railways. Winter hiking trails, toboggan runs, ice skating rink, climbing hall and Stegenwald hunting centre with state-of-the-art shooting ranges, horse-drawn sleigh rides and cross-country skiing trails are nearby.
Enjoy your breakfast, which is produced from biological agriculture. In the vicinity there are restaurants with good bourgeois cuisine up to knight meals and top gastronomy.
