About Us
🦅 Where the Golden Eagle Spreads Its Wings 🦅
The way to our mountain cabin “Sauper Alm” already gives you a hint: This place is magical. Rays of sun break through the larch forest. It feels as if, any moment, Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots or Ronia, the Robber's Daughter could step out of the shade and greet you in this fairytale forest.
🏔 The mountain cabin”Sauper Kasa” is set on an alpine pasture on the edge of a larch forest at an altitude of 1,750. Depending on the season, you can find flowering wild orchids, edelweiss, gentian and Gymnadenia austriaca or “Kohlröserl” in German that smells of vanilla. From the canopy swing, you can take in the completely unspoilt view of the Großglockner, Austria’s highest mountain. With the aid of your binoculars, you can even spot details of the Großglockner, Austria’s highest mountain, such as the world-famous Pallavicini couloir and the prominent rock formation called “Adlersruhe”. While you’re enjoying your time at the mountain cabin, the cowbells of our grazing cattle provide the idyllic soundtrack. For our young guests, the mountain stream near the cabin is the most beautiful playground: build dams, throw stones, ... Time flies by as the children “play like in the good old days”.
🏚➡️🏡 Our mountain cabin was completely renovated in 2021. It’s comfortable, modern and comes with this iconic, romantic ambience typical of a mountain cabin. It comes with eight cosy beds, a kitchen-living room with wood-fired stove, a living room facing south and modern sanitary facilities.
A lot of board games, card games, candles and an outdoor barbecue area are provided for fun-filled evenings. Making bread on a stick around the open fire and gazing at the stars in the night sky. Can you think of anything better? Perhaps, one of you can play the guitar?
Humans and nature are slowly calming down. A night in the mountains is very quiet and dark: no traffic noise, no lights. You can only her the cowbells. The soft starlight allows you to distinguish the shapes of the trees. The next day, the songbirds will wake you up and welcome a beautiful day at the mountain cabin “Sauper Alm”.
Can you imagine being offline for a view days during a holiday in the mountains? If so, please contact us. We are looking forward to welcoming you in our little paradise.
