About Us

Our WACHTLERHOF farm is situated in a sunny location approx. 1,170m above sea in the middle of the Hohe Tauern national park, surrounded by Eastern Tyrol’s enchanting mountains. It is only 2 km away from the town centre with grocery stores and the “Ski region Matreir Goldreid” valley station.
Enjoy the peace and the beautiful view that you will have from our farm. There are numerous attractions, sights, cultural highlights and athletic activities. The nature along the path of the Alpine natural landscape will invite you to take leisurely walks, hikes and even athletic mountain tours. Over 1000km of signposted hiking paths lead to all altitudes. The Goldried mountain railways are the starting point of the Matrei/Kals Europe Panorama Trail. You will be enchanted by the lovely panorama and the view of over 60 3,000 metre peaks!
Pony rides are a special highlight at our farm. These animals are every kid’s favourite; witness farm culture and how we work here. You can sunbathe on our terrace or playground while the children run wild on the trampoline, swing or slide. Free Wi-Fi in all areas
About Us
In the middle of High Tauern National Park, surrounded by East Tyrol's enchanting mountain scenery, our farm is located in a sunny setting at an altitude of 1,170 m and half-surrounded by forest. Only 2 km from the centre of the municipality with grocery shops or from the valley station "Skiregion Matreier Goldried". Enjoy the peace and the wonderful views which you have from our farm. All around Matrei, numerous attractions, sights, cultural highlights and sporting activities are offered. On nature's trail. A different kind of winter holiday: Without stress or hassle. Far from traffic and the hustle and bustle. Magnificent winter walks on cleared trails, well-maintained pistes, circular hiking routes and sleigh rides are available for all winter sports enthusiasts. A special feature of our farm is the pony riding. Children can ride, feed and look after the ponies independently. The many animals (cats, a dog, rabbits, pigs, goats, calves, cows, ponies), which can also be stroked, are very popular with all children. Experience farming culture and the work routine.
