About Us

Magical spot at the foot of Austria’s highest mountain, Großglockner

You’ll find the mountain cabin Wallner Kasa in a secluded location at an altitude of 1,600 m at the foot of the mountain Großglockner. It’s surrounded by the alpine pastures of Gipperlalm with no other buildings around. A small mountain stream runs next to the cabin. Children love to build dams, bridges and stone piles here. Comfortable benches and wooden tables as well as a masonry barbecue in front of the cabin invite you to take it easy while you’re on holiday. A small chapel and a few sheds used to store hay are set a few metres above the cabin. Our cabin Wallner Kasa and our guests’ cars are fenced in order to be safe from the animals that graze here.

First-class comfort of living

Wallner Kasa used to be a traditional mountain cabin where dairywomen and herdsmen took care of their animals and made dairy products during summer. Only a few years ago, cheese was made here. The cabin was renovated with a great love for detail. Today it offers a high comfort of living as well as an extraordinary holiday destination for up to 10 people. The cabin is for rent throughout the whole year

Nestled in the mountains

Here, at the mountain cabin Wallner Kasa, you’re in the Hohe Tauern National Park. Apart from the Großglockner, Austria’s highest mountain, there are plenty of other 3,000+ m peaks. Those who love nature and those who are seeking tranquility will feel especially comfortable here. There are countless options for hiking and mountaineering. Advanced skiers can ski to the ski resort Heiligenblut directly from the cabin. Very special insider tip: It’s extremely beautiful to go showshoeing or ski touring from here.

Holidays with dogs

Thanks to its secluded location and the fence around the mountain cabin, Wallner Kasa is a very good place for a holiday with a dog.

Please mind: Access via a 3.6 km narrow asphalt road that leads up here from the village of Heiligenblut. It’s possible to drive up here with a car in summer and winter.

Mountain cabin for rent throughout the whole year.

There’s a double room on the ground floor of our mountain cabin.

Two bedrooms with adaptable beds are located on the upper floor. There’s also a multi-bedroom there. In the multi-bedroom, the beds can be adapted in a flexible manner. There are 2 additional beds that can also be placed in other bedrooms.

The cot can be placed in every room.
