About Us
Servus – welcome to the Ausserraingut!
We operate an organic farm in the heart of Flachau. A few years ago, we decided to specialize in fattening oxen. From June until September, our animals graze on the high pastures. A few calves do their grazing right here at home. Our hens supply us with fresh eggs, a cat scampers by from time to time and our rabbits enjoy spending time outdoors in summer.
One unique aspect of our farm is our small agricultural equipment workshop. Every day, new machines stand outside our gate waiting to be serviced by Martin. You will generally bump into Maria in the vegetable garden since, in springtime especially, the weeds tend to grow a bit faster than the delicate young vegetables. Our 4 children – David, Gabriel, Karoline and Sebastian – look after our fleet of play vehicles for the youngsters. Martin Sr. takes care of the animals here at the farm and Kathi is responsible for the comfort of our guests.
Flachau is a well-known winter sports destination. In summertime, Flachau offers practically everything you could wish for when it comes to holidays filled with adventures and outdoor activities: including rafting, Segways, mountain-karting, a high-ropes course and even zorbing. With the free FlachauCard, daily guided hikes, lift rides and a full sporting program (soccer, volleyball, archery, etc.) are included.
Just across the road is a supermarket and also the Enns Bike Path. And barely one kilometer beyond that, you’ll already find yourself on the A10 autobahn making a beeline in no time at all to the countless excursion destinations and sightseeing attractions across the length and breadth of Salzburger Land.
In addition to the 2 swimming lakes in Flachau, the Therme Amadé spa resort guarantees bathing enjoyment no matter what the weather.
The opportunities are many – though you are also welcome to take things easy, make yourself comfortable on the bench outside our farmhouse and let your mind wander, while your children are busy having the time of their lives on the playground and inspecting our animals.
Small tip: Snacking in our berry garden is encouraged!
