About Us
Great times with the Grains
Lovely to have you! Lose yourself among the rolling hills and forests in the nature of south-east Styria. Aside from great experiences on the farm there is our volcanic and thermal landscape as well as many other destinations for excursions for the whole family, for example: Styrassic Park, Riegersburg Castle complete with birds of prey demonstration, the Zotter chocolate factory with zoo animals, open air swimming pools, thermal spas and much more.
Feel at home in the cosy family-friendly holiday apartment complete with balcony or terrace and enjoy the view of the surrounding area. When the sun pops up above the nearby forest you'll know it's time for a boiled egg for breakfast from our own hen house.
Our children's playground is a real paradise for children. A large swing, a playing meadow, a sandpit, a swimming pool, its own undercover playroom and much more is all at your children's disposal. Right next door you can watch our goats, hares and ducks.
The animals also let you carefully feed and pet them. You can experience nature with us, as well as the smell of hay, forest, flowers and elderflowers in the air.
That's what we call a holiday - for YOUNG and OLD alike.
The next day you can watch the farmer at work, or sit with us and have a glass of wine.
After an extended walk in the colourful natural surroundings you can hear the fish splashing about in the pond and relax and unwind. On balmy summer nights you can hear the crackling of a campfire while relaxing in a deckchair and watch the stars in sky.
That's what we call real holiday on the farm.
Yours, the Grain family

You can also spend wonderful winter holidays with us.
This includes long walks with the snow crunching under your shoes.
An evocative lantern-lit walk at Christmas or New Year makes your heart melt.
On cold days, we particularly recommend visiting one of the surrounding spas, or simply stay in our cosy, family-friendly holiday apartments.
Time at long last to chat and play board games.

From the bottom of our hearts
The Grain family
We plant pumpkins in our own fields in order to make the famous Styrian pumpkin seed oil from them..
From apples and elderflowers fantastic natural juices can be made.
A further important part of the business is the production of fantastically scented Christmas trees.
All these products are sold on the farm. Foremost of these, the Christmas trees. The seed oil and juice only make up a small amount of our produce.
The elderflower harvest has become one of our most important areas of our business since 2008.
This is sold straight after the harvest to a company which processes it.
You can find elderflower as a colouring agent in sweet things(sweets, gummi bears) as well as milk products (fruit yoghurt) and also in drinks (blood orange juice).
