About Us
Our small farm known by the name of “Schott” is surrounded by nature, forests, fields and dry stone walls. For more than 300 years, this has been a small farm, primarily focused on subsistence farming. Up to this day, the “Biohof Schott” is one of the smallest farms in the valley. Since 2014, it’s a certified organic farm. The farmers pay great attention to maintaining a small place of great diversity.
The holiday apartment was newly constructed in 2021. The wooden building is located above the barn, next to the shed, with the only neighbours being the animals in the barn and in nature. Plus, the family who runs the farm and lives next door in the historic farmhouse. Sleep in beds made of Austrian stone pine and take in the pleasant smell of wood. Spend a nice time together in the spacious living room with open-plan kitchen and wood-fired stove. Watch the sheep that are grazing on the meadows around the farmhouse. Enjoy the sunset on the terrace. On a holiday here, you can calm down and relax.
Our farm can be easily reached. There’s a covered parking space. The attractions in the surroundings guarantee a diverse holiday. Nature invites you to a variety of discoveries and experiences. If you like, you can pitch in on the farm, helping with a range of different farming tasks.
Are you interested in our farm’s history and in life on a mountain farm? Would you like to learn more about organic farming or permaculture? Your hosts and farmers are always in for a chat! You can also book a workshop on our “school farm” (it’s not only interesting for kids and teens!). It allows you to immerse yourself in the world of bees or get to know more about the heritage livestock breed “Bovec sheep” and the use of sheep wool. Plus, it can simply be a great way to start your authentic organic farming experience and learn exciting facts about organic agriculture.
A small but delicious variety of organic food is there for you to taste during your holiday or to take home as a souvenir reminding you of our organic farm “Schotthof”. For our guests, we open our “farm shop” any time on request!
Please note: smoking is prohibited on our farm, as is the lighting of fireworks.

The holiday apartment was newly constructed in 2021. The wooden building is located above the barn, next to the shed, with the only neighbours being the animals in the barn and in nature. Plus, the family who runs the farm and lives next door in the historic farmhouse. Fall asleep surrounded by the pleasant smell of wood in beds made of Austrian stone pine. Sit together in the spacious living room with open-plan kitchen. Immerse yourself in a good book as you’re sitting in the rocking chair. It’s great here in autumn and winter too! Thanks to the Infrared heating, it’s warm and comfy in all the rooms. Should you prefer listening to the sound of fire crackling, simply heat the wood-fired stove in the kitchen, have a cup of tea and relax.
It’s getting calm and peaceful when the first snowflakes are softly falling to the ground. The blanket of snow often doesn’t melt until spring. After the harvest in autumn, nature is eventually slowing down making way for a time of peace and quiet. It thereby reminds us that we also need such quiet breaks in life. Of course, the ski resorts in the surroundings are great to get some exercise but also country walks, tobogganing and sledging are great fun. Or simply take in the beautiful views. Peer up at the clouds at dusk or dawn. It’s magical! On our farm, you can learn more and experience the local pre-Christmas and Christmas traditions. You’re welcome to join!
The road up here is regularly cleared of snow. But it’s still a mountain road and it might take a while until the path is free. So, please mind: Use good tyres and always take snow chains along!
