Ferienhaus Goldberg
- Mountain Cabin
About Us
This holiday home is located in Goldberg, above the village of St. Daniel in the Gailtal valley in the midst of meadows and forests. It has been preserved in its original beauty but nevertheless offers conveniences that you do not want to miss out on while on holiday, such as sunbeds and parasols in front of the house, table tennis, swings and paddling pools, a bricked grill, two bathrooms in the house, a washing machine and dishwasher.
Spend a beautifully-relaxing or physically-active holiday here. There are hikes, dreamy tours for mountain bikers and horseback trips (5 min. trip by car), swimming in the "Mauthner Badl" natural pool and the nearby Aquarena Kötschach-Mauthen (outdoor pool, indoor swimming pool, sauna, massages, illuminated large slide), approx. 8 min. by car. There are also paddle courses, rafting tours on the Gail River or canyoning in the ravines.
Reachable in 20 min. by car, the Gaitalgolf golf course is a wonderful and well-groomed 24-hole course. We wish you a good game; you can expect to find an 18-hole championship course, a 6-hole practice course, a spacious putting/chipping/pitching area and a fine restaurant. Learn how to golf or improve your skills at the Golf Sport Academy.
One of Carinthia's most beautiful biking paths is the Radweg, which runs 90km along the Gail. It runs from Kötschach-Mauthen through small villages, past old farms, along Lake Pressegg to Villach. The path is mostly slightly downhill, making it exciting for younger children as well.
Gailtal bacon and homemade cheeses will be available for sampling at the cultivated mountain pastures. Connoisseurs can find traditional Carinthian cuisine in Gaital's inns. You can expect to find a cultivated atmosphere and fine cuisine with regional products at Sissy Sonnleitner's gourmet restaurant in Kötschach-Mauthen. She also shares her knowledge in popular cooking courses.
Carinthia's #1 Theme park at Lake Pressegg is especially exciting for young guests, and the Nassfeld is fascinating thanks to its summer toboggan run and the "Felsenlabyrinth" (Rock Labyrinth) climbing garden.
The Goldberg holiday home is only rented out in the summer.
Cows and calves graze on the holiday home's surrounding fields. Buzzards circle high above in the air, and an eagle can occasionally be seen as well.
Roes and deer emerge from the forest during twilight hours, and light-footed chamois live in the rock regions.
The small, yellow-dotted fire salamanders, which can be seen in shadowy areas, are nice to look at. They used to predict the weather. If they crawled upwards, there was beautiful weather, if they crawled downwards, then rain was announced.
Sheep and young cattle enjoy the summer on cultivated Jaukenalm.
The Schneider riding school in St. Daniel invites you to go horseback riding and horse carriage rides. Beginners may take their first riding lesson.
