Sheep meat is among the healthiest types of meat on the market. There’s also scientific proof for that: It’s a rich source of valuable nutrients such as essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. Plus, it’s low in fat.

30 years of experience.

For 30 years, our only supplier, the family business FiSCHERGUT in St. Wolfgang, has been producing high-quality, healthy sheep meat on their own sheep farm.

Our local partners and ourselves do completely without the use of soy or maize, let alone animal feed produced on an industrial scale. In winter, when our sheep cannot be put out to pasture, they are fed on hay from our meadows or from those cultivated by our partners. For us as well as for our partners, not using manure or fertilisers on our meadows and summer pastures goes without saying. Therefore, we ensure that our animal husbandry doesn’t put a strain on the environment. Throughout the whole year, we take from nature only what it provides us with, year after year. That is our understanding of sustainability. And this strict framework is also obligatory for our producers and suppliers.

No use of additional animal feed and growth promoting agents
Thanks to an extensive pastoral farming practice and the fact that we don’t use growth promoting agents such as antibiotics and hormones, we can guarantee that our sheep grow slowly and steadily. Our sheep and those raised by our partners grow at the speed intended by nature - not faster and not slower.
