Far away from daily stress! Enjoy the peace and quiet, relax, be amazed by the natural surroundings, celebrate with friends, recharge your batteries. Our self-catering cabin lies quite secluded at the edge of the forest on the Oberberger Alm, reachable in summer by car. Those looking to relax and nature lovers have come to the right place. You can go on long hikes from the cabin (Perchauer Alm 20 min, Oberberger Kogel 60 min, Kreiskogel 80 min, Zirbitzkogel 2 ½ hrs, Wildsee 3 hrs). Mattress camp for 11 persons, outhouse, running water, garden shower, candles and solar lighting, wood-burning stove. Mass tourism has not yet reached our area. You might meet a few hikers and the pasture farmer, looking after the cattle. Children are very welcome and you can bring your four-legged friends. The nearest bathing lake is 20 mins away by car (there are three lakes in the vicinity). The nearest riding stables are 20 mins away. For more information, visit www.franzbauerhuette.at

Had enough of the stresses of everyday life? Then immerse yourself in the snowy nature of the alpine world. Rejuvenate yourself on long ski tours and fun-filled toboggan rides! If you rent our self-catering cabin in winter, there are a few adventures to be undertaken, as you can't reach the cabin by car. On the journey, from Neumarkt you have to negotiate a 10 km-long asphalt road and then a 5 km-long gravel road (both well cleared) before arriving in Zirbenwirt. From Zirbenwirt there is another 1 km of gravel path (not steep but uncleared) to overcome. So get that luggage on to the sledges and off we go to the Franzbauer Hütte. From the cosy cabin with wood-fired heating (tiled stove) you can head off on wonderful ski tours. Toboggan rides are also possible. The nearest ski lift is 20 minutes from Zirbenwirt.
