About Us
“Grüss Gott!” – We, the Schwaiger family, welcome you to the Lacknerbauer!
Our mountain huts are each an oasis of tranquility, where we would like to offer you the opportunity to spend an unforgettable vacation in the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park. Also the perfect base for countless hiking and mountaineering tours.
Allow the Alpine magic and echo of the cowbells to entice you into a world of pure escape. Enjoy the wonderful mountain panorama including sunrises and sunsets beyond compare, casting the summits of the Hohe Tauern in magnificent colors.
Thanks to the warm charm of the Lacknerhütte and its many loving details made from native pine, larch and spruce, you will quickly forget the stressful daily routine and begin to feel on top of the world. A steady, gentle babble fills the well in front of the hut with refreshing, clear spring water.
The new bathroom, the 2 bedrooms and a kitchen contribute to the cozy ambience. They have all been completely refurbished. The stone grill in front of the hut invites you to enjoy convivial, delectable get-togethers. For our little guests, we have a playground with swing, sandbox and a selection of toys.
Your dog is also welcome here with us. We have even created a really cozy place for him to sleep. Our hut is easy to reach by car and includes a fenced-in parking area.
We also run a farm in the middle of Rauris, doing so with the help of the whole family. Living at the farm in the valley are dairy cows and their calves, pigs, cats, hens and ducks. We turn some of our fresh raw milk into cheese, butter etc. Awaiting you at the Lacknerhütte when you arrive will be a small, homemade welcome surprise.
If you ever want to give yourself a real treat, we suggest paying a visit to the nearby (ca. 5 - 10 minutes’ walk) Karalm, where you can enjoy an extended breakfast or full dinner, accompanied by a great view of the Grossglockner (the highest mountain in Austria).
