    About Us

Asten offers lots of options for ski tourers. You will find some tour tips on our homepage www.lerflei.at

. And after a long tour in the Asten mountains you can snuggle up by the warm tiled stove, before heading off in the evening on a toboggan ride or winter walk. A private storage room for sledges and touring equipment is provided.

In Carinthia's highest mountain village – ASTEN – you can buy homemade produce straight from the farm.

    • FROM AUERNIGHOF – bread, bacon, cheese, sausage, eggs, butter
    • FROM LISI’S ALPINE CABIN – yoghurt, Graukäse and Glunder local cheese, butter, eggs, milk, buttermilk, fresh stone-baked bread, Carinthian Reindling cake on request. Or after a hike you can swing by "Lisi's" for a traditional hearty meal. In addition to the above mentioned groceries, you can also expect bacon, sausages, etc.

All these food products are produced on the farms and then passed on to the consumers.

On the various hikes there is a wide range of animals to discover. Fire salamander, marmots, chamois, mouflon, eagles, butterflies, frogs, fish, deer, foxes, white-backed woodpeckers, black woodpeckers,

goldcrests, Eurasian pygmy owls and boreal owls, wood grouse, hazel grouse, black grouse.

The region's farmers keep their animals (cows, sheep, goats...) in the Asten valley in summer

For "young herbalists" there are lots of different types of herbs and plants to discover in the Asten, e.g. wormwood, lavender, arnica, gentian, lady's mantle, orchids, pearl barley and much more.
