About Us
Location: On a slope with views of the Asten valley. Arriving: 11 km from Mörtschach, asphalt, of which 1 km is a gravel road. Facilities: Newly built cabin. Combined living room/kitchen with large seating area, wooden stove, electric cooker, sink (boiler), fridge. 2 bedrooms (2 + 2 bunk beds). Shower (boiler), WC. Electricity. Al fresco seating. Toboggan run, touring area around the Sadnighaus. On request we also have a second apartment in the cabin (9 beds). Rental period: All year round. The special features: For families with children that want to go for wonderful walks in the Asten valley. In the new, wonderfully appointed cabins you can of course cook for yourself - but there are also alpine restaurants located close by. And the name of the cabin comes from the large larch tree which is the cabin's emblem.
About Us
Asten offers lots of options for ski tourers. You will find some tour tips on our homepage www.lerflei.at
. And after a long tour in the Asten mountains you can snuggle up by the warm tiled stove, before heading off in the evening on a toboggan ride or winter walk. A private storage room for sledges and touring equipment is provided.
In Carinthia's highest mountain village – ASTEN – you can buy homemade produce straight from the farm.
- FROM AUERNIGHOF – bread, bacon, cheese, sausage, eggs, butter
- FROM LISI’S ALPINE CABIN – yoghurt, Graukäse and Glunder local cheese, butter, eggs, milk, buttermilk, fresh stone-baked bread, Carinthian Reindling cake on request. Or after a hike you can swing by "Lisi's" for a traditional hearty meal. In addition to the above mentioned groceries, you can also expect bacon, sausages, etc.
All these food products are produced on the farms and then passed on to the consumers.
On the various hikes there is a wide range of animals to discover. Fire salamander, marmots, chamois, mouflon, eagles, butterflies, frogs, fish, deer, foxes, white-backed woodpeckers, black woodpeckers,
goldcrests, Eurasian pygmy owls and boreal owls, wood grouse, hazel grouse, black grouse.
The region's farmers keep their animals (cows, sheep, goats...) in the Asten valley in summer
For "young herbalists" there are lots of different types of herbs and plants to discover in the Asten, e.g. wormwood, lavender, arnica, gentian, lady's mantle, orchids, pearl barley and much more.
