Ideal starting point for hiking tours
About Us
The Pöllitzgut is located at the valley head in Muhr above the entrance to Hohe Tauern National Park. The farm enjoys a stand-alone location above the valley floor, which means it is bathed in sunshine even when the valley itself is shady and cold.
The old grain shed, known here as a Troadkasten, as well as the main farm building and former barn were renovated cautiously, conscientiously and with love for every detail over the course of many years, which included the addition of three comfortable holiday apartments. This is the ideal place to escape the hectic outside world and enjoy a peaceful timeout in the midst of nature. In summer and autumn, the hiking and biking paths of Hohe Tauern National Park offer numerous opportunities to explore the mountain world as well as its unique array of rare plants and animals.
In winter, the farm is a refuge from the hectic winter ski resorts, yet still within easy reach of surrounding ski areas including Speiereck and Katschberg (about a 20-25 min drive from here). We only accept short-notice reservations in winter based on current weather and avalanche conditions.
Directions: A10, take the St. Michael i. Lg. exit, then make a left in the direction of Zederhaus/Muhr. Shortly after that, you will need to turn left towards Muhr. Drive through the town of Muhr and pass the Hintermuhr power plant, past Jedl, past the first reservoir, until the road next to the Arsenhaus and National Park hut branches off to the left in the direction of Rotgülden and to the right towards Muritzen/Sticklerhütte. Make a right here and pass through the gate if it is in operation. After a few hundred meters, you will come to the farm, which is below the road to your right.
