About Us
A dream in every season!
The Raggensteinhof captivates visitors with its perfect, peaceful location and unique views of the nearby “grass mountains”. It stands in the middle of the world’s most beautiful skiing and hiking areas. On a sunny hillside at 1100 meters high above Viehhofen, the farm can be reached both winter and summer via a paved mountain road. However, snow chains and/or all-wheel drive are required in winter.
Look forward to every lifestyle comfort here with us at the Raggensteinhof. Our newly built holiday apartment is modern yet traditional, with cozy solid-wood furnishings and space for up to 7 people.
In summer, you can set off on beautiful hikes and mountain bike tours from right outside your front door. Hike past rustic mountain huts to summits over 2000 m high, also treating you to the amazing sight of the Hohe Tauern range including the Grossglockner which, at 3798 m, is the highest peak in Austria! The Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Bike Region is easy to reach, either by bike from your apartment via mountain bike trails, or simply by jumping in your car. And if your mind is still focused on skiing, even in summer we are also the right place for you! The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is only a 15-minute drive from here, true to the motto: Go skiing in the morning, spend the afternoon swimming in Zeller See! For motorcycle fans, the apartment serves as a perfect base to explore beautiful alpine passes, including the Grossglockner High-Alpine Road.
In winter, under normal snow conditions you will be able to ski directly from your apartment down freshly groomed piste No.168 to the ski lift itself. In the evening, too, after having enjoyed refreshments and a bite to eat at the Hecherhütte, you will be able to return to the Raggensteinhof on skis, either directly by means of a powder slope or, once again, via the piste. For ski tourers, the apartment is a perfect base for moderately difficult tours of the surrounding mountains and alpine meadows.
We look forward to welcoming you here as our personal guests!

Do you know what woodturning is?
Turning is a special way to manufacture wooden objects. Here with us, not only can you watch us “turn wood”, you are also invited to use the lathe yourself to create handmade wooden souvenirs in our over 400-year-old farm workshop. You can also buy handmade wooden bowls, vases, salt barrels, bread boxes, ballpoint pens, children’s toys etc. 95% of the wood for these items comes from our own forest, of course. You can clearly see our passion for wood in our high-quality furnishings as well as the decor inside your apartment.

Location & Directions
Salzburger Saalachtal Region
Country walks, climbing tours or alpine hikes? Thanks to the varied terrain between the rugged mountains in the north and the undulating, grass-covered mountains in the south, everyone will find the perfect hike or country walk. Would you like to relax and unwind on the shores of Lake Ritzensee or feel a rush of adrenaline as you kayak along the river Saalach? Those who love skiing can get active in the “Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn”, network of ski resorts. For e-bikers, recreational cyclists, mountain bikers and downhill mountain bikers, the region leaves nothing to be desired. Plenty of local producers and farmers from the mountains and the valleys have culinary highlights in store for you. A widely known jazz festival and colourful festivities in autumn when it’s time to harvest on the farms - these are only some of the cultural highlights in the villages of Lofer, St. Martin bei Lofer, Unken, Weißbach bei Lofer, Saalfelden, Leogang, Viehhofen, Maishofen and Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
