About Us
We bid you welcome to the Seyrlberg Country Inn in Reichenau im Mühlkreis!
4 Seasons
There is a lot of hard work to be done in spring. The vegetable and herb garden needs to be replanted, the fruit trees have to be pruned and saplings need to be planted in the forest. At the same time, the fences in the meadows for our cows and sheep have to be inspected before they can be allowed to roam free—this is what guarantees the high quality of our meat. Spring is also the time to enjoy tasty treats such as wild garlic, lamb, venison and asparagus.
Lots of people come in summer to swim and sunbathe, which you can do in our very own pool. If you want a bigger place to lie in the sun, there is an open-air pool in Reichenau, which is only 8 minutes' walk away. A hike to the scenic lake at Ottenschlag is also a great way to spend the day. Meanwhile, fresh salad greens, zucchini and herbs are being harvested and prepared in the kitchen for our guests. In the fruit orchards the first fruits are already ripe, including the apricots, cherries, and plums... all grown organically, of course!
When the leaves start to turn color, autumn has come to Seyrlberg. The remaining fruit and vegetables are harvested and processed or prepared for storage. Herbs are made into pesto, or dried to make tea. Autumn is also hunting season, which is also why the "Wildwochen" (wild game weeks) begin at our inn at this time of year. Our cook always serves up a great variety of dishes (hare, venison, deer, wild boar...). This is when duck and "Martinigansl" (goose) will also be on the menu.
Food and drink
...are not only prerequisites for sustaining life. At our inn, flavorful dining is to a successful holiday what an "Amen" is to a prayer.
After a scrumptious breakfast (daily from 7:30 am to 10 am), there are any of a number of ways you could spend your day at the farm. How about coming with the farmer into the barn to see how the animals are fed, or picking your herbs from our very own garden for a nice hot cup of tea?
Lunch is available from 11:30 am at our inn. Traditional Austrian and vegetarian cuisine is served daily to warm the soul.
Dinner is from 6 pm to 8 pm. After that, enjoy a postprandial stroll later in the evening or relax in our spa area.

Winter is less eventful than the other seasons, because all the animals are back in the barn. If the snow is not yet too deep, there are still a lot of fun things you can do in the forest, such as searching for the perfect Christmas tree, or laying out food for the inhabitants of the woods. You may also decide to make use of the cross-country ski trails that run through the forest, or rent a Watzinger snowmobile and discover the hills of the Mühlviertel. In addition, there are also numerous ice skating rinks if you would like to try your hand at curling or go ice skating.
