About Us
Welcome to the Gaferlgut!
Our 600-year-old farm lies between the “grass hills” of Pinzgau and the Hohe Tauern peaks, in Bruck an der Glocknerstraße. With absolute joy, we, Maria and Hans Hutter, operate our farm according to organic principles. Our cows and calves, horses, sheep and hens always love to be pampered. We milk twice a day and you are personally invited to watch Hans work his magic, or perhaps help him feed the calves.
Our cows and calves spend summer (May until September) grazing on the high pastures of Kaprun and Fusch. If we take an excursion together in combination with a short hike, we can visit the animals there and at the same time enjoy the delightful countryside.
In our beautiful large garden, children can work off some of their youthful energy on the playground while mom and dad relax. The grill area with plenty of seating invites guests to enjoy pleasant hours together. After an action-packed day, what better way to wind down the evening than a grill party accompanied by a glass of freshly tapped milk!
Upon arrival, your hosts invite you to enjoy a shot of homemade schnapps as a small welcome gesture.
Our 2 holiday apartments in the old farmhouse and log cabin are cozy and comfortably furnished, just recently renovated with loving attention to every detail.
The Gaferlgut is an ideal base for your excursions and year-round glacier fun on the Kitzsteinhorn. At an elevation of 3029 m above sea level, the Kitzsteinhorn is the highest accessible point in SalzburgerLand and the alpine highlight of any visit. Though of course, a visit to the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner, is an absolute must as well. Other popular and well-known excursion destinations include the Kaprun high-mountain reservoirs with a big funicular as well as Ferleiten Wildlife Park.
Numerous hiking and mountain bike routes begin right outside the Gaferlgut’s front door. Bicycles can be stored inside our ski depot.
