About Us
The horse riding stable Schagl offers an indoor riding arena of 20x40, an outdoor riding area of 40x70, many kilometres of horse riding and hiking trails, own trained horses, and lots of riding fun for young and old, whether beginners or advanced. We have been successfully running our own Haflinger breeding stud, with many national champion horses coming from our farm. Our family business is located in 900 metres above sea level, with a wonderful panoramic view of the Alpine foothills and as far as the Ötscher mountain. The homely guest house with guest rooms offers good country cooking and homemade pastries. The impressive, densely wooded landscape of the Ötscher mountain ravines is perfect for hiking and discovery tours. A special highlight for our guests are the guided riding tours with our good-natured Haflinger horses that lead through the wild and romantic scenery of the Ötscher-Tormäuer national park. Every year on the 3rd Saturday in August the Haflinger horse market takes place, which is well-known far beyond national borders for its show programme and breed show.

Location & Directions
Mostviertel Region
This is a region of contrasting landscapes connecting a rolling countryside and fertile soils in the northern part with the wild and romantic mountain scenery in the south. Here, you’ll find traditional farms surrounded by meadows, forests, streams and pastures that are home to all kinds of animals. The most iconic types of fruit are pears and Cornelian cherries. The farmers produce particularly delightful culinary treats. This is the ideal destination for hikers and families.
