The Schulzimmer (=classroom) in the 'Moarhaus' - wheelchair accessible

In this part of the 'Moarhaus' a part of the Maishofen school was located:

Our rustic Castle Studio Ritterzimmer for 1-2 people is located on the 2nd floor of Schloss Saalhof.

You'll immediately feel like a time traveller if you see the rustic charm of the beautifully panelled Ritterzimmer (knight's room). Rustic and dignified old wooden floorboards and ceiling, a wooden seating area and a hand-crafted kitchenette fulfill any wish. A caricature of the lonely knight "Don Quixote by Cervantes" can bee admired on the wall, giving the room its name.

The Backstube (=bakery) in the ground floor of the Moarhaus.

The name giver and highlight of this apartment is original stone baking oven for bread, which also decorates the kitchen beautifully. The old kitchen in the stonewalled vault is blackened from the soot of the baking oven.

Another hightlight is the winter garden in the back part of the second bedroom with an oversized panorama window. view the beautiful grass mountains like the 'Schwalbenwand' from the comfortable chouch or the hanging chair.

Apartment Hiatakammer in the 1st floor of the Moarhaus Chalet for 4-8 persons

The so-called 'Hiata' (shepherd) had a very important and responsible task at the farm, mountain pasture and field; Here he had his dormitory.

A highlight of this apartment are the disgner lamps made out of birch stems in the kitchen. Beautiful view onto the grass mountains, the 'Steinerne Meer' mountains and the castle.

The Moarstube in the 1st floor of the Moarhaus Chalet for 4-7 persons

The 'Moar', or the administrator of the castle resided in earlier times in the 'Moarstube'. The 'Moarstube' is lavishly large and possesses a bright and friendly ambience. Together with the oversized windows this was an expression of the status and reputation of the 'Moar'.

 Mixed materials with wood, handmade bright furniture and floorbaords from our birch forest, east Tyrolean sheep wool in the gaps of the dark wooden ceiling, stone wash tables in the baths and glass provide coziness and modern comfort. The colors green, bordeaux-red and dark brown dominate the apartment...

The chalet 'Moarhaus'  offers 7-8 bedrooms, 5 baths, 4 separate toilets, a large common dining area and lounge in the second floor for groups and families of 14 to 27 people. The large kitchen in the 'Moarstube' is ideal for common cooking. Nevertheless, each familiy has their own private area because of the division into 4 apartments (Schulzimmer, Backstube, Hiatakammer and Moarstube). One of those, the classroom, is wheelchair accessible.

The wellness area in the basement can be used exclusively.

The attic with a double room with folding bed (160x200cm) is the 8th bedroom and can be booked additionally.

Common lounge and eating area in the 1st floor: Two L-shaped tables offer space for up to 20 people.

In the basement there is now a wellness area with a huge wine barrel out of wood which contains the 'Moarsauna'; this sauna can be used exclusively.

On the ground floor there is a ski shoe room with heated shoe-dryer for 2x 20 pairs of shoes, a ski cellar with sepeerate rear entrance and a bicycle and garbage room.
