The LOCATION. In a sunny central location in the village of Maria Neustift - a well-known place of pilgrimage - nestled in a picturesque landscape, a world of mountains and hills, in a place where people still shake hands when greeting each other, we would like to welcome YOU! On the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park, part of the Prealps in Upper Austria. The town of Steyr and the Mostviertel region (Lower Austria) are just a stone's throw away and the Iron Road, a region steeped in the history of ore processing is definitely worth a visit.
PILGRIMAGE. Our farm is located directly on three hiking paths: the Way of St Sebaldus (“Sebaldusweg”), the route to Mariazell (a famous place of pilgrimage) and the hiking trail across the Austrian Prealps (number 04, part of the E4 European long distance path). FAMILY FARM. Get to know our young cattle, calves, goats, chicken, quails, cats and rabbits up close. We are looking forward to your help in the barn. Have you ever driven a real tractor? Do you think that turquoise eggs exist? Have you ever led a goat on a lead or watched wildlife at dusk?
ON THE FARM. There is a garden with trampoline, swings, play tower with slide, giant sandpit, go-karts & pedal tractors... Everything a child's HEART desires.
Breakfast. Enjoy a locally sourced, diverse breakfast buffet with an egg from the hens on our farm, fresh herbs on home-made spreads and selected products from our region.

WINTER. In winter, our mountainous landscape that’s covered in snow looks like a winter wonderland. Set out on family-friendly winter walks directly from the farmhouse. A unique panorama unfolds during a snowshoeing tour on the mountain Glasenberg. A gentle winter activity for all ages. Whether it’s with a lantern in the evening or on a sunny winter's day: A visit to the idyllic alpine hut on the mountain Freithofberg with a far-reaching view of the mountain range Sengsengebirge will remain in your memory forever. A visit to the romantic town of Steyr (20 min.) with its Christmas markets - fairytale train - Christmas museum - puppet theatre with traditional rod puppets - Christkind’s post office and much more will add a magical touch to your winter holiday. Family-friendly ski areas nearby: Glasenberg, Forsteralm, Königsberg. Ice rinks: Waidhofen/Ybbs, Steyr. Horse-drawn carriage rides in the Kalkalpen National Park.

Everything your heart desires!
You are welcome to get fresh eggs from the henhouse or fresh herbs from the freely accessible raised bed every day. Fancy a courgette? All sorts of vegetables are ripening in the raised vegetable bed, which we are happy to share with you.
Numerous local food products from farms in Maria Neustift such as butter, yoghurt, goat's milk products, sheep's cheese, cream cheese, curd cheese, meat and sausage specialities, fish, juices and cider are served at our locally sourced breakfast buffet. You can also buy them in the regional corner that’s just a 2-minute’s walk from the farmhouse.
Fresh bread and pastries can be purchased at our 2 bakeries which are just a 2-minute’s walk away:
- Holzofenbäckerei Schaupp (bakery with wood-fired oven)
- Steinparzer
The products for our breakfast buffet are home-made or are mainly sourced from local suppliers. We are happy to order food from our co-operating businesses for you (Hofladen Buchriegler, Biohof Kochlöffel,...).
