Our cabin made of Austrian stone pine (“Zirbenhütte”) is a traditional mountain cabin that was used by shepherds in former times. It’s set in a sunny, quiet location at an altitude of 1,750 m surrounded by the Nockberge mountains. As you step inside, you’ll be welcomed by the calming scent of Austrian stone pine.

Wood furnishings made of Austrian stone pine are known for their beneficial health effects and for lowering the heart rate. It’s the ideal place for a relaxing and regenerative break in the mountains.

Surrounded by flowering alpine pastures, you can take in the breathtaking panoramic mountain view with the Hochalmspitze (3,360 m) that stands out as the highest peak in the Ankogel Group and is therefore also named “Queen of the Tauern Range”.

The Stone Pine Cabin is the ideal starting point for countless hikes and country walks in the Nockberge mountains. Langenock, Stileck and Rabenkofel are only some of the potential destinations. Keen hikers can even go to the summit of Plattennock or Rosennock (2,440 m). Cattle, deer and marmots are their only companions along the way.
